Why this exists

I've spent years answering "quick questions" for free. They are rarely quick, and the person asking usually gets exactly what they needed — a working computer — while I get a thank you and a bill I still can't pay.

This isn't a paywall. It's a fair trade, and honestly it's a better deal for you too: prepaid clients get answered first, get billed by the minute instead of the hour, and never have to wonder whether they're imposing. You bought my time. Use it.

Still free, and always will be: scheduling, questions about what I do, written quotes and estimates, and every public guide on this site.

Straight answers

Why do I have to pay for a phone call?

Because the phone call is the work. Twenty years of knowing exactly which setting to change is what you are hiring — whether I fix it at your desk or tell you the answer in four minutes. Scheduling, questions about what I do, and written quotes are still free and always will be.

What if we only talk for ten minutes?

Then ten minutes comes off your balance, not an hour. Time is logged in real minutes at the posted rate. Short questions cost short money — that is the entire point of credit instead of a flat fee.

Does my credit expire?

No. It sits on your account until you use it. No monthly fee, no subscription, nothing quietly draining in the background.

What can I spend it on?

Anything I do — phone support, remote sessions, on-site visits, diagnostics, or labor on a repair. It is credit on your account, not a restricted voucher.

What if I run out mid-problem?

I do not hang up on you. Your balance goes negative, we finish the job, and you settle the difference afterward. Nobody gets abandoned halfway through a broken computer.

Can I get a refund?

Unused credit is refundable on request, minus any time already spent. You are prepaying for service, not buying a non-refundable pass.

I am a veteran. How does the discount work?

Tick the box at checkout and 25% comes off what you pay — but you still get the full credit value. I may ask for proof of service at our first session. It is the same standing discount I have always offered.

Not sure how much you need?

Start with the smallest pack. Credit never expires, and you can top up in thirty seconds the next time something breaks.
