There is no storefront. I come to you, or I pick your device up and bring it back. Most problems can be pinned down on a house visit; deeper testing happens on my bench.
A flat $60 covers the work of assessing your device and isolating the failure — finding out exactly what is wrong.
Often it is a quick fix and the diagnostics fee is all you pay. If a part has failed — or is failing on and off — you get a quote for the part and the labor.
I call you with the full quote. No parts are ordered and no repair work starts until you approve it.
One competitive flat fee covers the diagnostic labor and working out what your computer needs.

Often the best first step is a 20-minute condition assessment before any diagnostics or repairs, so we can agree on the best plan of action. If you then go ahead with diagnostics, the $25 is applied to the diagnostics fee.
Labor is priced by how involved the repair is. You see the exact figure in your quote before you approve anything.

If you decide not to repair, or choose to recycle your device, I'll remove the storage drive for free so you keep your files.

Prices include the enclosure plus a $15 installation fee, and may vary with enclosure availability and source pricing.
Don't want to repair? I offer free, environmentally responsible recycling of computers and electronic devices, with no strings attached. If possible, your data drive comes out first, so your personal information stays with you.
Give your device a second life. If you choose to donate rather than repair, the diagnostics fee is waived and the device is prepared for donation to students in need, U.S. veterans, and children.
You'll sign a device relinquishment waiver, and your data is securely wiped before donation. Some donated machines may not be in working order; these may be kept as parts for future use toward the same causes.
I reserve the right to refuse service for devices containing highly sensitive classified information or illegal content of any kind.
If illegal content is discovered during service, it is my moral and legal obligation to report it to the authorities.
